Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you.

Exciting days, exciting life. Ever since I started to work in Korea, my life is like a jet coaster. Every day there's a surprise, not all of them are good but I try to keep my chin up. Mostly I don't have time for anything. I went to the office, worked till late, came back home late night, study 3D, and then sleep. I'm not gonna rant about my work here. There will be a story about 'how does it feel to work in Korea?' but I'm still thinking how to tell it in a short but interesting way.

When my family came to Korea last February for my graduation, I asked my mom to bring a lipstick that I bought from an online shop in Indonesia. I really wanted to have a purple lipstick. Limecrime is kinda hard to get. I have tried MAC but I don't really like the color. Then I found NYX Macaron Lippie!

Lipstick | Violet | USD 6 or IDR 105.000 | Website

I personally like NYX brand. It's cheap but the quality usually is good. I received the product bare, without box or anything. I fell in love with how it look. The purple looks great. But let's see if it can produce a pretty color too.

I heard that some people complaints about the packaging. They said that the lipstick will come out without rotating it but I don't have that problem.

Violet lipstick, a color that's not entirely weird but I haven't really use it for daily wear (my office makeup is pretty much simple haha).

If you are into ingredients, here it is.

And here is how it looks like on my hand~

Despite how much I felt excited with it when I receive it the first time, I was kinda disapointed because it's not the kind of purple that I want. But it's kinda nice in it's own way.

On this photo, I have applied foundation before I applied the lipstick. The color turned a little bit pinkish. It looks a little magenta in real life. It's a little bit patchy but not too much that I can still call this fine. I used Etude play liner to line my lips.

It's not too creamy and it doesn't smell anything weird. If you have dry lips (and skin) like me, using a lip primer, instead of lip balm (because the color won't stay with lip balm T_T), will help. Lipstick and I are not best friends so I have to look for other ways to moisturize my lips without reducing the color. It is pretty much pigmented buuuut I have to apply foundation or concealer first to bring out the optimal color.

It's my first purple lipstick so I'm gonna treasure this really well despite the so-so quality. It's not bad but it's not entirely nice too.

Purple lipstick feels very cheerful and fun for me but it can be applied to make a unique and cool look. It totally reminds me of Poison Ivy. Maybe my kiss is a toxic, well who knows? Like Agent Carter's sweet dream lipstick

I'm gonna use this the next time I have time to play. I'm gonna say this again for the conclusion: it's not the purple (or violet) that I want but it's kinda pretty too. Will I buy it again? I really want all of NYX Macaron Lippies product, so yes.... for other colors.

In conclusion (score: 3.5/5):
+ Unusual color
+ Pigmented
+ Cheap
- A little bit patchy

By the way I plan to go to Seoul next month. EXCITED. Most of my friends now live in Seoul, while I stay in Busan. Can't wait. It's gonna be a fun weekend, I bet!

Stay positive, be creative. See you next time~
