How are you doing these days? It's getting colder here in Korea, especially this week the temperature dropped. If you have been following me on instagram, you must know that I actually bike to work and these days the weather is not so friendly to bikers like me :(
Anyway, today I am going to review my latest favorite. I am pretty much late than the others on BB cushion product. I actually got this product since April but I wanted to use it until it was empty and then review it. It's Laneige's BB Cushion.
BB cushion | color no. 21 natural beige | 37000 KRW | Korean Website | English Website
BB cushion is very booming these days. All of Korean makeup brands have their kind of BB cushion now. I was super curious if it was really live up to the trend. I was really confused which BB cushion should I buy. It was either IOPE, Laneige, Verite, or Hera, but then I chose Laneige.
I chose this color because... well, it suit my skin really well even though it was brighter than my real skin tone. It's more yellowish (and warm tone I guess), and it complemented well with my skin that's easily goes red. I always choose color no. 21 for every Korean foundation that I buy though.
I got the compact, refill, and instruction paper. You can see how to change the refill there, I'm not gonna explain it here (it's very simple and easy too, I bet you all can do it).
Some people feel that using the sponge is kinda unhygienic but I don't feel like that. I personally like product and it's presentation. By the way, the refill is also packed with a new cushion, so you don't have to worry to use the same cushion for two pact of them.
I have to say, Laneige BB cushion is really-really great. Instant favorite the moment I put it on my face. It has medium to high coverage. It covers my red blemishes perfectly, but my acne scaring can still be seen a little. I love how moisturizing it is. I usually felt really annoyed with BB cream because I felt like my skin suffocated. I also used it during summer and I don't feel too oily, it's just perfect, I got that dewy looking using this.
The sponge is superb. Probably that's also what make this BB cushion good. It helped me blend the BB cream to my face. It's not too perfumed too so I like it. Perfumed products can be an upside or downside sometimes.
The downside of this product is... it's not long lasting enough. If I accidentally touch my face, sometimes it was brushed off ∑(゚ロ゚〃). I was thinking, maybe it was because of my moisturizer but it's impossible for me to not use it before putting any makeup so I won't remove that step. I find putting loose powder on top of this helps (but then I loose that dewy look effect *sigh*). The other way is to touch it up when you see any foundation flaw that looks weird.
This is the result on my face using Laneige BB cushion! (●´□`)♡ Although in this photo, I used face primer first so the result was more flawless. I'll post a review of the primer that I use as soon as possible, so please stay tune to my blog ;). Without primer, this product still works great, but I have to touch up my makeup constantly every 2 hour or so. I felt my dry skin kinda acting up without primer, I got that almost cakey look sometimes (not cakey, but almost...? you can see my dry skin if I don't use primer).
Because I only use foundation every weekend (yes, I work in front of computer every day, and I don't feel the need to wear full make up to work. My PC doesn't need to be impressed by me haha), I used the whole cushion for almost 6 months. I just refill it last week. I heard that someone actually used it all in 2 months? That's if you use it every day I guess.
In conclusion (4.5/5):
+ Nice coverage
+ Moisturizing
+ No weird acne breakout
+ Doesn't feel too heavy on my face
+ High SPF
- Not long lasting enough

I will buy it again I guess. But I am thinking to get Hera for my next BB cushion. Still in consideration though~
Stay positive, be creative. See you next time~
