Probably some you didn't know but I wrote for Dynamic Busan—they provided a lot of things about Busan in English—about a Korean dish.

They already edited it so the words are not how I had it written.

So... I decided to make my own. I wanted to write about this topic since long ago but I always procrastinated o(-`д´- 。)

If anyone ever asked me about my most favorite Korean food, I would say 김치찜 (read: kimchijjim) eagerly! Moreover, near my dormitory there was a famous restaurant for their kimchijjim. The restaurant name was 한옥집 (read: Hanokjib).

It was located in Daeyeon 3-dong. The first floor was a small parking area. That day a lot of people was eating there but thankfully the third floor was less occupied. Hanokjib only served two kinds of food: kimchijjim and kimchi-jjigae (김치찌개). You won't find anything else beside those in here.

Kimchijjigae.

Kimchijjigae is a stew like Korean dish, made with kimchi, scallions, onions, tofu, and pork. In this restaurant, we boiled the ramyeon inside the kimchijjigae, so it became a sort of kimchi ramyeon. This one was delicious, but my favorite came after this.

This is kimchijjim. Look at that big kimchi! <3

Kimchijjim, after I cut it with scissors.

Kimchijjim is more like a steamed pork with kimchi. Personally, like I said in Dynamic Busan, I didn't like kimchi the first time I came here. It was too sour. However, when they cooked it into kimchijjim, the sourness became perfect, especially because they combined it with a very juicy and soft pork.

Although kimchi-jjigae and kimchijjim shared a quite similar appearance, they tasted different. Kimchijjim was more sour. As you can see from the picture, there was not much soup too in kimchijjim. In kimchi-jjigae, the pork was not cooked as soft as kimchijjim, and they were cut smaller.

I really love spicy food so I don't think it's spicy at all but for some people who can't stand spicy things, it might sting you a bit.

I almost forgot to mention this. They provide fried seaweed, beansprout, and odeng for side dish. The rice, ramyeon, and side dish are refillable as much as you want.

This is my Korean best friend, Sujin! ♥(✿ฺ´∀`✿ฺ)ノ We met during our sophomore year.

In this restaurant we sat on the floor.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the price too! Both of them cost 7000 KRW each. When you eat in this restaurant, everyone has to buy a portion. So Sujin and I couldn't order just one kimchijjim.

I guess that's all about my favorite Korean food! I might want to write which one gets the second place but the restaurant is kinda far away (not that far actually) but the waiting line is kinda crazy.

Today also mark the last day of Chuseok (추석) holiday—although I don't have any class till next Monday so I will still have 5 days of holiday—it might be a little late but, Happy Chuseok! (ી(΄◞ิ౪◟ิ‵)ʃ)♥

See you on the next adventure!
