So, last Tuesday my friends and I met with two oppa from my church. After we had dinner, I already figured out that we were going to have a chat in a coffee shop since it was a usual part of Korean custom. However, I didn't think that we were going to a cat cafe. Animal cafe is pretty usual in Korea. You can drink some beverages with cookies and playing with the pets. I have been to a dog cafe last year but never been to a cat cafe. Why? Because honestly, I don't really like cat's characters. I'm more of a dog person. Sadly, I didn't bring my SLR, so the photos were bad :(

As much as I was hoping that all of cat cafe near my uni close, this cat cafe apparently opened at late afternoon and closed before midnight. The cafe name is 묘한인연 (read: Myohan-inyeon). The entrance fee is 8000 KRW per person. You got one free beverage of your choice per entrance.
I had to put off my shoes and wear these slippers instead. I was really shocked when I saw this beautiful cat inside the shoes cabinet.
The beverages were nothing special. I didn't try the coffee because it was already late and I couldn't sleep if I drank coffee, so I chose to drink orange juice. Basically, the 8000 KRW was to pet and play with the cats in my opinion, because the drinks were so-so. Fair enough, since not all customer could treat the pets with care, right? So the pricey entrance was like a guarantee, I guess.
What I really like from this cafe was that they kept the place really clean. It was just a little bit smelly but it didn't bother me at all (I had kept 13 dogs in my house and that was definitely really smelly). Especially there were 12 cats inside the room! What really surprised me more, they had beautiful hair! The owner had groomed them well.
The left one looked like it just drank 10 bottle of soju! |
Most of them were already sleepy. It was like 9.30 PM. I felt sorry for them to be bothered by us.
They were so cute and beautiful! Even for a person like me who doesn't really like cats, they are totally adorable!
All of them had their names. They put this right next to the door.
Taking a photo with animal is really hard. One of the result was like this:
Turned out, I really loved this cafe. Super plus point because they kept the place clean. The cats were pretty and adorable. But I don't think I'm gonna come back soon hahaha!
See you in the next adventure!
Gabriela Tio.
